I've made three separate one-day trips to Indianapolis this spring, once under cloudy skies, once in rain, and once under sunny blue skies.

Indianapolis has some wonderful monumental architecture; two of my favorites are the Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument in the Circle, and the World War Memorial at the North End of the Mall. The Indiana State Capitol is magnificent, too. I've tried to capture these, along with other downtown scenes, in photographs. There's a lot more to see in Indianapolis.

These vacant, partially boarded-up buildings are just a couple of blocks from the Circle. That there used to be many more like them testifies that downtown Indianapolis is changing for the better.

Fire Station 13 sits across from the Indiana Historical Society, near the canal walk and the government center
